With more than 47,000 employees and over 130 years in business, HOCHTIEF AG has established itself as the third-largest provider of construction services in the world. And now, the company is using WoodWing’s Smart Connection Enterprise editorial solution to help tell its story.
HOCHTIEF recently began using Smart Connection Enterprise to produce all of its publications, including business reports, quarterly reports and environmental reports. Previously, the company relied solely on Adobe InDesign, but after testing Smart Connection Enterprise, officials at HOCHTIEF decided the industry-leading editorial solution would greatly improve their workflow and efficiency.
“Simultaneous editing, layout and translation means an enormous increase in efficiency,” said Christopher D.J. Butterfield, project manager of digital communication design at HOCHTIEF. “We can considerably reduce costs and significantly increase productivity. We see Smart Connection Enterprise as an investment in the future.”
HOCHTIEF worked with one of WoodWing’s German partners — Jeberien Consulting — to make the switch to Smart Connection Enterprise. The entire installation took less than a month, and Butterfield said they’re already starting to see tremendous improvements in efficiency.
“We can now issue the business report in two language versions simultaneously,” Butterfield said. “The tight schedule could only be adhered to by switching to Smart Connection Enterprise.”
“Smart Connection Enterprise is in place at some of the leading magazines and newspapers around the world, but it’s also a great fit for the corporate world,” said Hans Janssen, CEO of WoodWing Software. “HOCHTIEF had been using InDesign by itself, but once they saw that they would save money and increase productivity by installing Smart Connection Enterprise, they were sold. There were also some significant security issues with HOCHTIEF’s internal publications, and we were able to address all of those needs and concerns.”
