World Tour stop in Zurich, June 9th

The publishing industry gathered: 1 day, 6 keynotes, 12 lectures, 200-plus participants

The WoodWing World Tour stop on June 9 in Zurich (Switzerland) certainly provided the content that publishers were looking for - trends and solutions in modern, multi-channel publishing. Attendees representing publishing houses, agencies and marketing departments from companies in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and other countries were enriched by keynotes, customer stories and in-depth sessions on various hot topics.

In his keynote, Hans Janssen, CEO of WoodWing Software, explained why mobile devices like the iPad mark the beginning of a new era – an era that looks very promising for publishers. Erik Schut, President of WoodWing Software, highlighted the functionality of WoodWing's Digital Magazine Tools for iPad and showed a number of available iPad Apps designed and produced using WoodWing´s tools. He concluded his presentation with “Whatʼs cooking in WoodWing’s Labs.”

In a fascinating keynote, Samuel Huegli, Group CFO and member of the Executive Board of Ringier AG, explained the strategies of the renowned publishing house.

WoodWing Announces Support for Adobe's Digital Viewer Technology
Klaus Kurz, Technical Sales Manager at Adobe, showcased Adobe’s latest products and technologies for the publishing community. At the end of the presentation, Hans Janssen announced that WoodWing will support the upcoming Digital Viewer technology from Adobe, while continuing the development of WoodWing’s own Digital Magazine Tools and Reader.

The morning session wrapped up with a keynote by Stefan Adam from the German WoodWing distributor Impressed – titled, “High-fidelity Publishing with WoodWing Enterprise.”

In the afternoon, spread over three tracks, 12 presentations by WoodWing customers and partners offered the attendees comprehensive in-depth information on subjects ranging from "The iPad – the simplicity of publishing" and "The efficient use of Excel in InDesign" to "Decentralized production,” "The newsroom today" and "Virtualization and High Availability.”
