Pacific Magazines Australia
Pacific Magazines latest title Prevention Australia runs on Enterprise 6
WoodWing Software announced today that Pacific Magazines has selected WoodWing´s Enterprise Content Publishing Platform and Content Station, the next generation multichannel publishing tool for content producers.
Pacific Magazines, the publishing arm of Australia’s largest television network – the Seven Network – is a dominant force in Australian magazine publishing. Pacific Magazines publishes more than one in four magazines sold in Australia – including two of the three biggest selling weekly titles: New Idea and That's Life!
“We’ve been using WoodWing publishing solutions for our editorial processes since 2007, so when it came time to launch Prevention, we chose Enterprise 6 and Content Station as our editorial system,” said Fraser Crozier, Business Liaison Manager at Pacific Magazines. “The support from WoodWing and Creative Folks has been very solid, with productivity improvements already evident, as well as the forming of a strong development platform from which to leverage the efficiencies of the workflows. The software has proven to be relatively simple to deploy throughout our divisions in Australia and New Zealand, and we are looking forward to ongoing rollouts. With the recent upgrades to version 6 of WoodWing Enterprise, there are a number of additional value-added propositions that can be exploited out-of-box. There are also a lot of promising developments on the horizon.”
Prevention is the first healthy lifestyle magazine specifically for and about Australian women age 40 and over. It will inspire and empower a previously ignored audience, giving them the information they need to live the long, healthy, happy life they expect. More than a magazine, Prevention is a 360-degree brand, which supports women's health ambitions with an in-depth, easy-reference Web site, a stream of relevant special books, and other publications and iconic events.
“Pacific Magazines was the first company to implement WoodWing in Australia,” said Andrew Lomas, Project/Sales Director at Creative Folks. “After the successful completion of the WoodWing pilot in Who magazine, other titles were earmarked for rollout, commencing in early 2008. The rollout is ongoing.”
Remco Koster, the Managing Director of WoodWing Asia Pacific, noted that with the addition of Pacific Magazines, WoodWing’s reach in the region continues to grow. “Pacific Magazines was very thorough as they researched all the possibilities for a new editorial solution,” Koster said. “This is a first-class, cutting-edge company in every way, and they saw the success that we’re enjoying with Time Inc.’s titles in the U.S., and with large magazine companies around the world. In the end, going with WoodWing was a decision that made sense in every respect for Pacific Magazines, and we’re very happy to have them as part of the WoodWing family.”
“We have enjoyed working closely on this project with the people at Pacific Magazines,” added Matthew Green, Managing Director at Creative Folks. “The invaluable assistance of Pacific Magazines’ team of I.T. and publishing experts, and the unwavering acceptance of the editorial and design staff, ensured the project would be a success.”
