How it works

Below you can see how easy it is to link your InDesign documents to a data file. First, create a document, and link it to a spreadsheet (saved as a .csv file) by using Smart Catalog's Text File window. This makes the data available to Smart Catalog's Fields panel. Next, set up a table and fill the cells by making selections from the lists in the Fields panel.

For instance, the cursor is placed in the last cell of the table. Smart Catalog's Fields panel shows that the text displayed in the cell is the data stored in the Description cell of the row with SKU "SCE".
