Asian newspapers moving to 2.0 tablet editions
Asia has been a hotbed for newspaper iPad (and other tablet platform) editions right from when the iPad came out in 2010 and other tablets emerged after that. In Indonesia, Kompas Gramedia was the first daily newspaper in Asia on the iPad. In Hong Kong, the South China Morning Post was the first English daily newspaper in Asia on the iPad. In WoodWing Asia Pacific's backyard of Malaysia the newspaper publishers have also been quick to embrace the iPad and other tablets. The Star successfully launched first on the iPad, followed closely by the New Straits Times Press who launched three daily apps: Harian Metro, Berita Harian and the New Straits Times. read more >>

Recently, the print magazines Evonik and Gaggenau -- along with Evonik's iPad edition -- all received Gold rankings in Europe's prestigious Best of Corporate Publishing Award 2011 event. The BMW Magazine, published in 29 languages and 43 country editions, won Gold in the "B2C-Automobile" and "International Communication" categories.
Other wins were awarded at the 2011 Asian Publishing Convention which include a Gold rating for "Best Use of Screen Tablet Platform" by Metro Manila (from ABS/CBN Publishing) and a Silver for Style (from MediaCorp Publishing). Andaman 365° from Sirimedia Co. Ltd won the Excellence Award in the category "Innovative corporate communications in a multi-media world."
