ENVIRONMENTAL SOCIAL GOVERNANCE
Driving sustainable & responsible business growth
WoodWing is committed to sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical business operations. Our commitment shines through in how we work, how we run our IT infrastructure, and how we engage our people and partners.
Inclusive workplace & well-being
Inclusive culture, flexible working hours, and well-being support for employees.
Cloud sustainability approach
Major IT infrastructure hosted on AWS and Previder; focus on efficiency and small energy footprint.
Remote work & low-impact travel
We promote remote work and prioritize lower-impact travel (public transport, EVs, cycling).
Environmental – Social – Governance
For companies, ESG means taking responsibility for their impact on the environment, people, and society – and for how they're governed. In practice, this often includes setting policies and targets, measuring progress, and transparently reporting key information in line with relevant frameworks and requirements, so stakeholders can clearly see what's in place today and what's progressing.
At WoodWing, we embed ESG in how we operate – improving operational efficiency by reducing waste and resource use, investing in an inclusive and healthy workplace, supporting community initiatives and charities, and maintaining clear governance, security, and privacy practices in line with our ISO 27001-certified information security management system (ISMS).
Environmental
Reducing our footprint through practical, scalable choices
For digital companies, environmental impact doesn't disappear – it shifts. Offices, commuting, business travel, and the cloud infrastructure that powers products and services – they all have an environmental impact. Hence, our environmental approach focuses on making realistic choices that reduce impact without compromising performance, reliability, or innovation.
This means improving workplace efficiency (reduced waste and resource use), limiting travel impact, and partnering with providers (such as AWS and Previder) that run efficient, lower-impact infrastructure – while making sure our cloud resources are used as efficiently as possible. We also aim to keep our approach clear and credible: we prioritize actions we can sustain over time, and we continue improving how we measure and communicate progress.
Office footprint
We aim to keep our office footprint efficient and responsible by using space and energy thoughtfully. Across WoodWing locations, we prioritize practical measures such as energy-efficient lighting and climate control, occupancy-based office settings that automatically adjust based on whether a space is in use, and responsible purchasing and waste separation – in line with local energy conservation regulations.
What this looks like
- Energy-efficient office systems and facility management
- Compliance with local energy conservation requirements
- A ‘continuous improvement’ mindset: small optimizations that add up
- Active waste separation
- Waste reduction through the use of reusable kitchen wear
- Reuse of IT equipment
Cloud computing and infrastructure
Our footprint is especially present in our digital infrastructure. A large portion of WoodWing’s infrastructure runs on AWS – their public sustainability commitments affect the environmental impact of our services. We also use AWS Spot Instances – capacity that would otherwise remain unused – to reduce waste and use resources more efficiently.
Additional IT infrastructure partners, such as Previder, use green energy and efficient cooling systems to help reduce emissions related to hosting and data center operations.
How we approach ‘greener cloud’:
- Optimize, with our providers, cloud resources for efficiency and reduced energy consumption
- Opt for resource-efficient compute options (like Spot Instances) where fit
- Choose sustainability-aligned IT infrastructure partners
Commuting and ways of working
We encourage working from home to reduce commuting-related emissions, in line with our Hybrid Working Policy. When commuting is necessary, we promote public transport and cycling, supported by a public transport allowance, a range of mobility options, and a bike-leasing policy.
What this supports
- Lower commuting emissions
- Flexibility for employees
- More sustainable travel choices
How we measure progress
Once collected, mobility and commuting data – such as lease bike and public transport usage – will be included in our environmental reporting from 2026 onwards.
Business travel
Whenever travel is necessary, we aim to reduce its impact. We encourage employees to consider lower-impact options where practical – including public transport, rail travel, and virtual collaboration – and to weigh business travel against its environmental impact.
What we encourage
- Considering virtual collaboration before booking travel
- Favoring rail or public transport for regional travel
- Using electric vehicles where available and appropriate
How we measure progress
From 2026, travel-related data – such as the balance between flights, rail, and virtual meetings – will be incorporated into our environmental reporting.

Social
Supporting people and communities, day to day
ESG is not only about environmental impact – it is also about how a company treats people, inside and outside the organization. For WoodWing, this Social pillar is about building a workplace where colleagues feel safe, respected, and are able to grow, while also contributing to the communities we're part of.
We focus on creating the conditions for sustainable performance: an inclusive culture, flexibility where possible, and support for employee well-being. Social responsibility also extends beyond our own teams. We encourage community engagement and maintain long-term sponsorships that align with our values.
Diversity and inclusion
We aim for a workforce that reflects diverse backgrounds and perspectives across gender, ethnicity, age, and culture. We believe inclusive teams collaborate better and make stronger decisions. Governance
Building trust through transparency, ethics, and secure practices
Good governance is what makes ESG credible. It's the structure behind our commitments: clear standards for ethical conduct, transparent decision-making, and the safeguards that protect our customers, employees, and partners.
At WoodWing, governance includes how we set and follow internal guidelines, how we communicate with stakeholders, and how we manage privacy and security consistently. Trust is crucial to how we operate – especially in a digital, data-driven environment – so we emphasize responsible handling of information and clear expectations for how we do business.
Transparency and ethics
We follow a clear code of ethical conduct and aim to keep our business practices transparent to stakeholders. We maintain data privacy and security guidelines in line with our ISO 27001-certified information security management system (ISMS).
Responsible use of AI
We use AI thoughtfully and clearly communicate where AI supports our processes or products. We apply human oversight where it matters and assess AI use cases for privacy, security, and potential unintended impacts (such as bias or misinformation). As technology and regulations evolve, we continue refining our approach.
What we do
- Maintain and regularly review our code of conduct, with defined ownership and practical guidance for teams
- Strengthen internal alignment on ‘how we do business’ as we scale
- Constantly evaluate our use of AI to meet standards of transparency and responsibility
How we measure progress
- Proof of compliance, including ISO 27001 certification and policy adherence
- Patterns in reported concerns (including whistleblower reports) and time-to-resolution
- Customer trust signals, such as security/privacy assessments and recurring feedback themes on AI-enabled features
Data privacy and security
Trust is non-negotiable, which is why we operate an ISO 27001-certified information security management system (ISMS) and maintain clear privacy and security policies and controls.
What we do
- Maintain and continuously improve our ISO 27001-certified ISMS, including relevant policies and controls
- Reinforce secure ways of working across teams
- Conduct regular risk assessments to prioritize security and privacy improvements
- Maintain an incident management process to respond, learn, and improve
How we measure progress
- Yearly security training completion
- Audit/assessment outcomes and timely closure of remediation actions
- Incident trends and response learnings
