Mitch Klaif, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Time Inc.

Mitch Klaif is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Time Inc., the publishing subsidiary of Time Warner. With oversight for information technology throughout Time Inc. worldwide, he is responsible for technology and e-commerce for more than 115 magazines, 40 branded websites and Time Inc.'s direct marketing businesses. On a corporate level, Klaif is a member of the Time Warner CIO Council, whose members include the CIOs of HBO, Time Inc., Turner Broadcasting/CNN and Warner Brothers.

Klaif joined Time Inc. in 1997 as Director of Customer Service & Operations for Information Technology. Following that role, he was Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Global Magazine and Digital Technology and Deputy CIO before taking on his current role in early 2007.

Joe Zeff is the president of Joe Zeff Design, an influential design and strategy firm outside of New York City that advises publishers and corporations on app development. His company has designed three apps that have been chosen App of the Week by Apple, and one that resides in the Apple iTunes Hall of Fame. Formerly the Graphics Director of Time magazine, Joe and his team have created hundreds of magazine covers and illustrations, and they have leveraged their expertise in traditional publishing to become a leader in the digital space, working closely with large publishers to advise on content development and produce monthly issues for the iPad and other platforms. Ravi Gopalakrishnan - CTO Barnes and Noble

Ravi Gopalakrishnan is currently the CTO of Barnes and Noble’s Nook product business. Ravi established the Nook development team in Palo Alto, CA in April 2009 and has since led the development of four successful Nook products; Nook, Nook Color, Nook Simple Touch and most recently, Nook Tablet. All four products have been highly successful and have helped Barnes and Noble grow its ebook market share from zero to over 25% in less than two years.

Before joining Barnes and Noble, Ravi was the VP of Engineering at Azingo where he helped build a Linux mobile platform which was later acquired by Motorola. Prior to Azingo, Ravi had a long stint at Motorola where he led development and commercial deployment of new technologies including the world’s first GPRS system, the iconic RAZR and the world’s first 3G multimode UMTS system. While at Motorola, Ravi also had a very successful stint in Japan helping the company enter the Japanese mobile market by leading the launch of the RAZR into the Japanese market. Ravi holds an MS in Physics from IIT Kanpur in India and MBA from Chicago.

Zeke Koch is the senior director of product management for Digital Publishing at Adobe Systems Incorporated. In this role, Koch oversees the strategy, planning and design for Adobe’s Digital Publishing products.

Previously, Koch was principal product manager for Adobe’s Platform Strategy where he was responsible for defining strategy and direction for Adobe’s “Vectors of Innovation” including Multi-screen, Cloud and Social Computing. Earlier, Koch was the director of product management for Adobe’s Mobile and Desktop Platform Product Management teams (including the Flash Player and AIR). Koch joined Adobe from the acquisition of Macromedia where he was group product manager for Mobile Clients. Prior to Adobe, Koch spent a decade at Microsoft, first as a program manager on the Word 97 team and ultimately as the group program manager for the Windows Mobile Shell team.

Janssen is one of the founders of WoodWing Software and has stepped into the role of CEO since August 1st, 2007. He has more than 20 years of experience in the publishing industry, both on the technical side and on the business end. Janssen previously worked as the technical director for Mediasystemen, after which he became the Director of IT for the Telegraaf Media Groep.

Bonte started at WoodWing early 2010 as Channel Manager and is responsible for Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, France, Portugal and Spain. As a Channel Manager for these countries he is responsible to initiate, maintain and develop successful relationships with Business Partners. During the last 8 to 10 years he has gained extensive experience in channel sales in both the ICT and software industry.



During the migration period until November 2012 he will also act as Migration Manager.

In 2007, John also co-founded Serious Consulting and Serious Software. He successfully seeded and funded the development of Dakode - a QR Code solution for publishers. Serious Consulting also provides creative production outsourcing for publishers on tablets.

Joris joined WoodWing in 2008.

Joost Huizinga is System Architect for WoodWing Software, helping the various development teams to produce software components that understand each other. Before picking up the role of architect, he was at the heart of most of WoodWing's InDesign plug-ins, resulting in a great amount of knowledge of the development of InDesign plug-ins, InDesign scripting and Smart Connection scripting in particular. Joost is one of the founders of WoodWing Software.

Playing with Unity in his spare time, he published his first iPhone game soon after the App Store opened and earned enough from the venture to buy several coffees.
He motivated a team of developers, designers and subs to put together the first Sunday Times iPad app that launched to worldwide acclaim in December 2010. The app hit the Number 1 spot in the Apple UK download charts and every Sunday is the highest grossing iPad app in the UK. Before joining the editorial team in 1995, Ragaz lived in Washington for 5 years, working as U.S. correspondent for various newspapers and radio stations in Switzerland and Austria. He started his journalistic career as Editor in Chief for two other daily newspapers in Switzerland.
