Consolid is a temporary employment and secondment agency specializing in transport and safety. Within this field, they are the largest in the Netherlands. Consolid's 2,500 professionals work all over the Netherlands across eight locations. Esther Hofman's quality team monitors the necessary processes. "We reviewed all documents from our old server and put them into Scienta. The system was set up even before we switched to Microsoft 365, and now there are some 600 documents in it."
Quality control is centralized in Consolid, but business units and staff departments maintain individual responsibility. For example, the entire company is ISO certified, but there are additional certificates per business unit. Consolid needed a digital system capable of handling that level of complexity without being too complex itself.
With the assistance of Scienta, Consolid can better streamline their quality management process. Each authorized expert can suggest process improvements on their own. Esther Hofman and her quality team maintain oversight, while employees love the simplicity and usability of Scienta. while employees love the simplicity and usability of Scienta.
Consolid now has a single centralized source
Consolid deliberately chooses areas in which they have extensive knowledge and expertise, says Esther Hofman. This is how they ensure quality. Of course, Consolid wants to monitor that quality as best as possible. The system they utilized before was inadequate and underused. Fortunately, Scienta brought the necessary simplicity.
What are the current happenings within your organization?
"We are rapidly growing. Our employees are on the road or work on location a lot. Therefore, information regarding quality, processes and procedures must be easily and quickly accessible. Even more so as we are a niche player as a specialist within transport and safety. We distinguish ourselves through our quality. An effective and user-friendly digital manual is, therefore, an important basis for all employees. It bridges the gap between our business units, our branches, and two cultures: office staff and deployed or seconded colleagues."
Why did you choose Scienta?
"Because of the fantastic search function. We have an awful lot of documented processes and procedures, partly because of certificates and standards. We can put all that information in Scienta. I can organize it so that each business unit has a different set-up at different authorization levels. And thanks to the simple search function, everyone can still access everything quickly. Features such as the staff directory are also great fun. Plus, they're useful: colleagues from, say, Breda and Amsterdam now recognize each other immediately."
How do you like working with Scienta?
"It's great! There is a lot of mutual trust. For instance, we were close to the maximum number of users just before the holidays. With no problems, Scienta increased that number, and the paperwork arrived after the holidays. What I appreciate is that they take so much work off my hands. For example, Scienta is already fully equipped in accordance with the new ISO standard. If you have any special requests, they will do their best to include them in a future release if possible. One of our investors saw Scienta and wanted me to learn more about the system. I didn't have to do much since it already looked visually attractive. My enthusiasm sealed the deal."
Do you already have plans for implementing Scienta any further?
"Yes, we do. We are gradually introducing it to more areas of the company. Introductory films and work instructions via Scienta, for instance, save us a huge amount of time. I also see much wider practical use. Our minutes, for example.
