What's new in WoodWing Scienta

The new editor will have a fresh, modern look and will be much easier to use. Everything will be organized more logically, so you can find what you need faster and have more space for your article’s content.

Here’s what you can expect:

Writing is at the heart of the new editor. The options for writing and formatting text are now displayed in a more compact and organized way, so you’ll be less distracted and work faster.

You’ll also have a better overview of your article: elements such as related articles, revisions, and tasks will be much easier to find.

Administrators are not the only ones who will notice changes; employees who submit change proposals through the manual will also gain new capabilities.

In addition to suggesting changes to an article’s content, employees will soon be able to suggest tags and related articles as well. This will allow them to provide an even clearer and more comprehensive description of what they believe needs updating, and the administrator will receive all relevant information immediately upon receiving the suggestion.

The revamped editor is more than just a visual upgrade. We are currently working on new features to manage and publish Scienta articles. The new editor serves as the foundation for this.

By making the interface smarter and more organized now, we’ll be able to add new features in a more logical way later on. The new editor is the first concrete step toward a new way of working with articles in Scienta.

You can now search your WoodWing Scienta environment using AI. Simply ask a question, and Scienta will deliver immediate, relevant, and contextual answers based on your own content. 

You can now link a SharePoint folder to a category in WoodWing Scienta. The documents in that folder will automatically appear in Scienta and stay in sync. When you edit an Office 365 file in SharePoint, the changes are immediately visible in Scienta. Work in MS Office as usual, while WoodWing Scienta keeps everything organized, controlled, and up to date.

Objects are now more powerful. You can add images and files to Objects for richer context, submit change proposals directly, and even compare different versions of an Object side by side. 

Managing RASCI roles has become more intuitive. You can now link roles directly to nodes in your flowcharts and bulk edit roles across multiple articles in one step, saving time and ensuring consistency. 

Linked articles are now visible at a glance, so you can immediately see which articles reference each other. In addition, templates for flowcharts let you set default settings for your nodes, helping you maintain a consistent visual structure. 

The article overview now includes a new “future status” column and additional status columns that show when the next status will be applied. The status filter has also moved to the clock icon tab, making it easier to filter by time frame. A new “no status” option has been added, and you can now change the statuses of multiple articles at once with bulk editing. 

Building on the release of public forms, it’s now also possible to make other types of articles publicly available. 

Presets have been improved for better visibility and flexibility. Administrators can now select a different list as the default, making it easy to highlight a frequently used list or a more comprehensive one across article management, form data, or task management. 

With the release of Scienta 12.6.4, Objects and Continuous improvement were introduced.

It’s now possible to send partial form data by email during a form’s active period. Previously, only the complete data could be sent after submission. You can now choose to share one or more sections of the form, or all data filled in so far, at any stage of the process. 

Audit logs provide greater insight and control for administrators. They record detailed information about user actions, allowing you to see exactly who performed which actions and when.

A new quick-create button in the main menu lets you create articles or tasks instantly. Article icons have also been redesigned for a more modern, refreshed look.
